Autofocus is powered by dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motors, a technology borrowed from Sigma's most advanced prime lenses. Unlike traditional stepping motors, HLA units use linear electromagnetic force to move lens groups with exceptional speed and near-zero mechanical noise, making this lens equally at home tracking fast-moving athletes in burst mode and pulling focus smoothly during high-end video production.
